TEMPERATURE-RISK PLANNING GUIDE

From a reading.
To a responsible response.

A practical conversation guide for quality, operations and cold-chain teams.

Use this framework to plan a monitoring deployment with Thermologix. Your organisation’s approved product requirements and operating procedures determine the final approach.

01

Define what you are protecting

List the goods or environment, required storage conditions, important locations and the decision each reading will support. Identify the product owner and the qualified person responsible for assessment. Set requirements from approved product and operating information, rather than applying one temperature band to every application.

02

Select suitable monitoring points

Agree whether you need an environmental reading, packaging reading or another measurement type. A device reports conditions at its location. Use site assessment or qualified temperature mapping where required to inform placement; routine monitoring and mapping serve different purposes. Confirm accuracy, calibration evidence, sampling interval and environmental suitability.

03

Test the complete communication path

Assess LoRaWAN coverage, gateway requirements and obstacles in the intended loaded environment. Verify device onboarding, fresh readings and notification delivery to actual recipients. Decide how teams recognise stale data and respond during an outage. Backup memory is documented for NanoTag; confirm how buffered readings are recovered for the chosen revision.

04

Agree who acts when conditions change

Create a primary and backup response route, including out-of-hours responsibility. When a notification arrives, check its location, reading time and configured limit. Investigate conditions through approved procedures, protect affected goods as required and escalate to the authorised decision-maker. A sensor notification does not automatically establish the cause or the suitability of stock.

05

Keep the evidence together

Retain relevant temperature reports alongside device identification, calibration evidence, shipment or stock records and the organisation’s incident decisions. Record what happened, what was investigated, who authorised the decision and any corrective action. Keep these records in the approved quality or incident process; a native incident-workflow module is not established in the supplied ThermoCloud material.

06

Learn before expanding

Run a defined pilot with agreed success criteria. Review reading availability, notification delivery, response ownership and report usefulness. Examine repeated excursions and unexplained gaps. Use the findings to improve placement, connectivity and procedures before deploying more devices.

BRIEF YOUR PILOT

Bring these details
to the first discussion.

The monitoring need

Industry, goods, locations, temperature requirements and the number of monitoring points.

The operating conditions

Placement, packaging, cleaning exposure, site or route coverage and required reporting frequency.

The evidence & response

Calibration and validation needs, report retention, named responders and escalation responsibilities.
